At approximately 9:40 PM on August 12th, 2014 the Pageland Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire near the intersection of West McGregor Street and Legion Street. Firefighters arrived to find a large unoccupied wood frame house which was already 1/3 consumed by a rapidly advancing fire. Firefighters had to first establish a water supply by connecting to a nearby hydrant with a five inch supply hose.

At approximately 1:45 PM, August 6th, 2014, the Pageland Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire on the corner of Pearl and Maple Streets. Firefighters arrived to find a two story unoccupied building with smoke coming from an upper story window.

At 1:14 PM on April 18, 2014 High Point Fire District responded to a structure fire near 24646 Highway 9, Mt. Croghan. Firefighters arrived to find a modular home with the roof completely burnt off and the front rooms fully engulfed in flames. The first arriving engine attacked the fire with its deck gun while firefighters deployed a hose line and attempted to enter the home.

April 15, 2014, 10:55 am, High Point Fire District and Sand Hills Fire Department responded to a report of an industrial machine fire at the Circle S Ranch wood chip facility located at 1201 Sims Road. First arriving responders found a 30 foot tall wood chip dryer with burning wood chips packed into it’s exit chute. Firefighters set up a water supply with a portable water tank and used tankers to shuttle water from a hydrant located at Sims Road and Highway 151.

On Thursday, March 13, 2014, an 80 year old woman suffered serious burns when she fell while trying to extinguish a grass fire in her yard on Guess Road outside of Pageland SC. Volunteers from High Point Fire district responded with a two brush trucks and two engines to the fire and arrived to find that a mobile home had been ignited with winds driving the grass fire toward a second mobile home.
