Structure Fire

At approximately 11 PM on Wednesday April 15, High Point Fire District responded to a report of a house fire on High Point Church Rd. Firefighters arrived to find a single story wood frame house filled with thick dark smoke but no visible flames. The resident was out of the house and informed firefighters that he believed the fire was in the bedroom.

Hose Test

Hose Test
April 13th was a beautiful Saturday. I’m sure lots of people spent it doing yard work or enjoying family activities. High Point volunteer firefighters spent this beautiful day testing 5000 feet of fire hose. The test involves laying out the hose in 300 foot lengths, then pressurizing it per the manufactures test requirements.

Machinery Fire

At 8:14 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2013, High Point Fire District responded to a machine fire at Old Castle Lawn & Garden on High Point Church Rd. Firefighters arrived to find that a large elevated mulch processing machine was on fire. Old Castle has its own fire engine and employees had worked to extinguish the fire themselves but due to the height of the machine they were unable to get the water from their hose directly on the fire.

Brush Fire

Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 5:15 PM volunteers from the High Point Fire District responded to a report of a brush fire on Coon Creek Rd. First arriving responders found approximately half an acre of brush and woods burning near several mobile homes.

Mobile Home Fire

At 2:52 PM Monday, March 4th, High Point Fire District responded to a report of a structure fire at 1100 Coon Creek Rd. near Pageland SC. First arriving firefighters found a single wide mobile home with smoke showing from all windows and vents but no visible fire. Firefighters also noticed the siding becoming discolored near the kitchen vent.
