Pageland Fire Department, in coordination with automatic aid partners High Point Fire and Sandhill Fire, responded to a structure fire at Rogers Laundry Mat, located at 206 West McGregor St. in Pageland. High Point Engine 11 arrived on scene and found the building filled with light smoke.

As additional apparatus and personnel from both Pageland Fire and High Point Fire arrived, firefighters promptly entered the building to search for the smoke's source. Meanwhile, other firefighters deployed an extension ladder to assess the roof for fire hazards.

After a thorough search, a burning basket of rags was located in a utility closet. The basket was removed from the premises and extinguished using a water can extinguisher. Following the firefighting efforts, ventilation fans were employed to efficiently clear the smoke from the building.
