Highway 151 at Sims Rd.

High Point Fire, Lifeguard, EMS, and Jefferson Rescue responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 151 and Sims Road. Upon arrival, responders discovered a car had veered off the road, collided with a guardrail, and descended down an embankment.

Engine 21 positioned to initiate rescue operations and set up lights to illuminate the scene. Engine 11 and Engine 51 secured blocking positions along Highway 151 to ensure a safe working environment. EMS treated the patient inside the vehicle. Subsequently, fire and EMS personnel carried the patient up the embankment and transferred him to the awaiting ambulance for transportation to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte NC for further medical attention.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into the crash.
