High Point Fire, Pageland Rescue, and Lifeguard EMS responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Airport Rd. and Guess Rd. Firefighters arrived to find a two-car crash with one of the vehicles on fire, which ignited a wild fire. No one was in the burning vehicle. Engine 21 extinguished the burning car while Engines 31 and 51 entered a long driveway to protect two homes in the path of the fire. Brush Trucks 23 and 13 arrived and began attacking the fire. Sandhills Fire Dept provided additional apparatus and personnel to assist High Point. A SC Forestry dozer arrived and cut a break around the fire. In all, firefighters used 4 engines, 2 tankers, 3 brush trucks, and a dozer to bring the fire, which consumed 10 acres, under control. Rescue and EMS treated one patient for non-life-threatening injuries.
