The volunteers of High Point Fire District were dispatched to a reported grass fire located on Boyd Evans Rd. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a woods fire threatening multiple residences on Boyd Evans Rd. and Sand Castle Rd.

Firefighters from Engine 21 and Tanker 22 extended hose lines and initiated an attack on the fire, focusing on the flames that were encroaching behind homes on Boyd Evans Rd. Simultaneously, Brush 13 and Engine 11 were deployed to safeguard properties on Sand Castle Rd.

To further contain the fire, a dozer from South Carolina Forestry arrived on scene, cutting a break around the perimeter of the fire.

Investigations revealed that the fire was ignited by the burning household garbage. The resident responsible for the incident received a citation from SC Forestry.
