Vehicle Crash - Hwy 601 N

High Point Fire District responded to a vehicle crash on Hwy 601 N in front of Markette 27. Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-car collision, with one car and debris obstructing both southbound lanes. The second vehicle had veered off the road and was leaking fluids. Fortunately, all occupants had safely exited the cars and reported no injuries.
Engine 21 positioned itself in the southbound lanes before the crash and rerouted traffic by deploying cones to guide vehicles through the median.
Engine 51 arrived to secure the area downstream from the crash, using cones to reroute northbound traffic into a single lane and create a buffer between the two streams of traffic.
Firefighters managed the fluid leaks using oil dry to prevent contamination.
