7 Acre Wildfire

Volunteers from High Point Fire District responded to a wildfire on Bennet Rd. Upon arrival, Engine 51 found a 7-acre fire threatening a nearby home. Firefighters used a hose from Engine 51 to attack the fire close to the house, while Brush 23 and Brush 13 worked to stop its spread. Engine 11 arrived to provide a water supply. Seeing the fire might grow quickly, firefighters requested help from Sandhills Fire and South Carolina Forestry.

Sandhills Fire sent an engine, a brush truck, and extra firefighters to assist. SC Forestry brought two dozers to create a barrier around the fire, keeping it from spreading to nearby areas. The fire was started by a homeowner burning garbage.
