Weekly Training

The volunteers at High Point Fire District convened Monday night for their weekly training session, focusing on the skill of ventilation. This session utilized a roof prop designed to replicate the lightweight roof construction commonly found in contemporary residential buildings.

Firefighters practiced cutting ventilation holes in a pitched roof using a ladder, chainsaw, and various hand tools. This hands-on training is essential, as it allows our volunteers to effectively ventilate smoke and hot gases from a burning home, improving conditions for both victims inside and responding firefighters.
