The Volunteers of High Point Fire District responded to a vehicle fire reported on Evans Mill Rd. Upon arrival, Engine 11 followed by Engine 21 discovered a GMC Acadia with flames engulfing the engine compartment, rapidly extending into the passenger compartment and threatening nearby woods.

Firefighters from Engine 11 advanced a hose line to combat the fire, while Engine 21 established a blocking position to ensure a safe working area for the responders. The vehicle's owner reported that he began smelling smoke before the engine stalled, prompting him to pull off the road. Fortunately, he was able to exit the vehicle without injury.
